I was on my way to NYC, ready to turn off my cell phone to start the flight and I got a inbox msn from Sergio Davila that said: “Giha I have two shootings this weekend, wanna come?” Obviously, I said YES!
Sergio Davila isn’t only my favorite Peruvian fashion designer; he is an awesome human being who I really admire. I could spend hours talking and always end up teaching something.
Sergio couldn’t choose better photographers that Luciana Arana and Hans Newman, both Peruvian and well-known photographers in the fashion Industry, unfortunately I missed the first shoot with Luciana, but I was in the second one with Hans Newman which was awesome. It was a beautiful sunny day at Meat Packing District the perfect stage to the Sergio Davila Fall 2012/2013. Although it was a men collection shooting, I should confess I was madly in love with some pieces as the arrow shirt or this awesome pattern blazer. Ni siquiera había pisado NYC, estaba a punto de apagar mi cel para iniciar mi vuelo la ciudad que nunca duerme y las cosas emocionantes empezaban… Recibí un mensaje de Sergio Dávila que decia: “Giha Tengo 2 sesiones para mi catalogo este fin de semana en el Meat Packing District… Quieres cubrirlo?” Obvio en el acto dije SIIIII!!!
Pues fuera de ser mi diseñador peruano favorito, Sergio es una persona increíble, con quien podría pasar horas conversando y nunca deja de decir algo aleccionador.
Sergio no pudo elegir mejores fotógrafos que los reconocidos Luciana Arana y Hans Newman, ambos peruanos y de amplia trayectoria en el mundo de la moda. lamentablemente me perdí la sesión con Luciana el sábado, pero el domingo estuve en la sesión de Hans Newman, y creo que no pude pedir más, pues un hermoso día de sol y el Meat Parking District se asociaron para ser el escenario perfecto para los tejidos, pieles y texturas tan urbanas que Sergio nos propuso en el último NYFW Fall 2012/2013. Si bien ese día el shoot de la colección masculina debo admitir que quedé enamorada de algunas prendas. Adoré el contraste de colores neutros con las deliciosas texturas de las camisas y ese maravilloso blazer. Pueden  a colección completa ver en este link de Vogue México aquí.

2011 is almost over but I didn’t want let it go without tell wish you all Happy New Year! I hope it comes full of happiness, love, health and succeed to you all.
This year was memorable for me because I have closed the longest stage of my life and the New Year means a new beginning. Thanks 2011 for everything you gave me, I knew awesome people, I keep the best friends ever and a lovely little person comes to my family. I couldn’t be more thankful.
I am also specially thankful with all my blog readers that have followed Aventura chic for these 2 years, you and the great vibe you always convey me is the best inspiration to continue sharing the best of me with you all.

Casi termina el 2011 pero no quería dejarlo ir sin antes desearles un Feliz 2012. Espero que venga cargado de felicidad, amor, salud y éxitos para todos.
Para mi el 2011 es un año memorable, pues cerré el capítulo mas largo de mi vida y este cambio de año es un nuevo comienzo. Gracias 2011 por todo lo que me diste, pues conocí a gente maravillosa, sigo teniendo a los amigos increíbles de siempre y llego a mi familia una la personita que nos cambió las vidas. Creo que no podría estar mas agradecida. Gracias especiales a todos mis lectores que me han seguido por estos dos años del blog, es por ustedes  y toda la buena onda de siempre que sigo compartiendo lo mejor de mi con ustedes.

I just wanted wish you all Merry Christmas!
I hope you have a great time with your love ones. This year is special for me, after some months away home I appreciate more this time with family.  I am also so excited for my little nice, this is her first Christmas and seeing her face when she saw her all her presents was the best present I got.

Quería aprovechar estas líneas para desearles Feliz Navidad!
Espero lo estén pasando lindo con sus seres queridos. Para mi este año es especial porque luego de estos meses fuera de casa aprecio más los momentos en familia, además esta es la primera Navidad de mi pequeña sobrina, creo que mi mejor regalo fue ver su carita al abrir cada regalo.

I know, it was too much, so many days with no posts; I’m the worst one!
I am so sorry, but some times we need a break to reinvent ourselves and come back reloaded full of energy. I had so many things to do, as you knew I was in NYC and I just went back to Lima, still a bit confused about people, cities and seasons. While Lima is in summer I have tons of winter stuff…
The best part of this break is I have a lot to show you next days new outfits, street style pictures and new purchases.
Might you imagine how did I package all this stuff in just 3 suitcases?

Lo sé soy de lo peor, esto fue demasiado, creo que nunca he pasado tantos días sin postear. En serio lo siento, pero tuve demasiadas cosas encina y como cualquier ser humano necesitaba un descanso para volver recargada y llena de Buena vibra. Como ustedes saben estaba en NYC pero recién volvía Lima, aun algo confundida entre personas, ciudades y clima pues vengo llena de cosas de invierno al verano Limeño. Pero no piensen que eso es malo pues tengo miles de cosas pendientes por mostrarles, más outfits, fotos de street style, nuevas compras y mucho más!
Se pueden imaginar como traje todas esas cosas en solo 3 maletas?
Hoy les dejo algunas imágenes que debí mostrarles antes, pero hoy son mis mejores recuerdos de estos meses en la ciudad.

Finally, after 2 years looking forward Peruvian restaurant La Mar opened in Manhattan, it was opened in September. Each time I used to talk about delicious Peruvian food I ended up disappointing people because I didn’t have any place to recommend in the city (so bad). Now I can assert La mar is the best Peruvian food reference, I went last Sunday and the experience was amazing, delicious Peruvian dishes and drinks.

I suggest you try Lomo Saltado, Cebiche and Pisco Sour.

Hace dos años me enteré que Gastón Acurio abriría un La Mar en NYC y lo esperaba con ansias, pues cada vez que hablaba de la deliciosa comida peruana no tenía ningún restauran cercano que pudiera recomendar. Finalmente en Setiembre, después de la larga espera La Mar Abrió sus puertas en Manhattan y no pudo encontrar mejor ubicación que en Madison Square Park, súper céntrico y de fácil acceso.

El día elegido para mi reencuentro con el menú de La Mar fue este Domingo, y debo decirles que no dejé disfrutar ni un segundo de los belicosos platos y bebidas.
