Finally, I can show you one of the projects I’ve been working on lately. I have to admit it was very hard, beginning from cero and setting up a shoot team in NYC with millions of people working in Fashion and beauty industry. But, I DID IT! And I am completely satisfied with the results. I got a super team full of talented people. I can’t still believe it, but I ended up with a full production team with truck van included, so we could move from location to location with the whole team. . It was by far the most exciting Chic Adventure!.

Finalmente puedo mostrarles uno de los proyectos en los que he estado trabajando últimamente, debo admitir que fue muy difícil reunir todo el equipo necesario para hacer un Editorial de Moda, siendo nueva en NYC  donde la industria de la moda es tan grande. Pero lo logré, y quedé más que satisfecha, conseguí un súper equipo formado por personas muy talentosas de diferentes partes del planeta. Aún no sé como pero empecé pensando en un equipo básico y terminé con un equipo de producción completísimo que hasta tuvimos una camioneta van que nos permitió cargar con todo de locación en locación. Realmente la Aventura Chic más emocionante que he tenido!

Something I love of this season is that both hemispheres (north and south) can enjoy nice weather. Last days in NYC have been beautiful; everybody looks glad and enjoying outside activities. Obviously, I’ll take the advantage to take more million of pictures of my outfits and street style.

Algo que me encanta de esta época de transición de temporadas es que los hemisferios norte y sur unen sus temperaturas y nos permiten disfrutar del clima perfecto sin morir de frio o calor y unificar tendencias. No le parece lo máximo? Los días en NYC están hermosos y realmente motivadores, todos los locales están abriendo sus exteriores y la gente pasa más tiempo en las calles… Eso significa más fotos de street style y de mis nuevos looks.

As I told you before, I went to Catskill Mountains last weekend. The area is stunning with many activities to do and places to go such as lakes, falls, wineries and sky center. Unfortunately, I spent there less that 24 hours and most of the time was in the car going from place to place and we didn’t stop as much as I would like. Obviously, I took the advantage when we were in the wineries to ask to my travel partner for pictures of my outfit and look for nice views to show you. This is an very laidback and comfy outfit I wore this crazy day… perhaps you don’t know yet, but I am obsessed with neon colors. I’ll show you more neon soon!

Como les conté en el post anterior el fin de semana pasado hice un viaje rapidito a Catskills zona de montañas a un par de horas de NYC. El paisaje maravilloso, con lagunas, bosques, cataratas viñedos y hasta zona de sky que estaba cerrada. Como pueden ver muchas actividades por hacer, pero tuve muy poco tiempo, con decirles que no llegue ni a las 24 horas. Casi todo el tiempo lo pasamos en carro corriendo de un lugar a otro, así que entre paradas en los viñedos, aproveché del partner del viaje y me instalé entre el paisaje para  mostrarles un poco del lugar y mi outfit viajero de neón, el color que me tiene obsesionada ultimamente. Pronto les mostraré mis nuevas adquisiciones!

Plastic shoes weren’t never as wished as this season, the Perpex shoes micro trend has been seen across the catwalks of SS12 with designers as Prada, Marc Jacobs, Christian Louboutin, Dolce & Gabanna, Philip Lim, Dries Van Noten. Obviously, low cost Brands turned the trend in to reachable to the average fashion lover.

Creo que los zapatos de plastico nunca han sido tan deseados como en esta micro tendencia, pués los catwalks SS2012 estuvieron llenos de zapatos con detalles transparentes y en algunos casos completamente transparentes, como cenicienta.
¿Qué diseñadores apostaron por esta tendecina?
Pues nada más y nada menos que Prada, Marc Jacobs, Christian Louboutin, Dolce & Gabanna, Philip Lim, Dries Van Noten. Obviamente las marcas lowcost como Zara, Topshop, Steve Madden, y Aldo no tardaron en hacelos alcanzables para los fashion lovers promedio.

This shoot was one of my last days in Lima, fortunately NYC is getting warmer each day and each day people are wearing more color and fun stuff. I could perfectly wear this outfit today and add a blazer at night ivory or yellow at night.

Este shoot es uno de los que hice en un día maratónico cruzando Lima de punta, creo que no encontramos mejor locación que esta carretera al lado del mar que se integra perfectamente con los colores del outfit. Afortunadamente, el clima NYC se pone más rico cada día y la ciudad se va llenando de color con la llegada de la primavera. Así que tranquilamente podía usar este outfit en el día con un blazer ivory o amarillo en la noche.

As soon as I saw this awesome dress at Sergio Davila store, I new it had to be mine. My Graphic designer instinct told me “perfect composition” color blocking, stripes, and textures. Isn’t it perfect!

Tan pronto vi ese vestido de en la tienda de Sergio Dávila del centro de Lima, supe que tenia que ser mío, con ojo de diseñadora gráfica pensé “tiene la composición perfecta” bloques de color, líneas y texturas del tejido. No les parece?

One of the strongest trends SS2012 is NEON colors. I should admit I have always thought about mix it with neutrals. However, I wanna take the risk right now mixing neon with bright colors, textures and patterns.
Here some ideas while I put my neon outfits together.

Una de las tendencias más fuertes del verano 2012 es la de colores neón, mi favorito es el amarillo y si bien siempre lo he pensado tímidamente con neutros,  ahora quiero tomar el riesgo mezclándolo con colores fueres, texturas y estampados.

As I told you yesterday night here, today I put together a Sequin Aztec outfit. When I bought this dress I thought this was just a micro trend. Wrong thought, I didn’t imagine that one year later many brands re-made their own versions of this awesome pattern. I didn’t wear it just as a dress,  that is why I put it together with a leather pant I love.
Fortunately, weather is getting warmer each day, so I will show you some outfits I wore lately.

Como les dije anoche aquí, hoy mi outfit es de estampado Azteca, cuando compré ese vestido pensé que la tendencia moriría el verano que ya pasó, sin imaginar que un año después tantas marcas sacarían su propia versión. Hoy, le di un poco de vuelta al vestido uniéndolo con este pantalón de cuero que adoro.
Afortunadamente, el clima por aca ya esta calentando un poco, así que pronto les mostraré algunos outfits que he usado últimamente.

One year ago I was madly in love with this beautiful Sequin Aztec dress All Saints, I was seeing it online for long and finally I couldn’t avoid buy it when I came to NYC. It looks like this Aztec dress was celebrities’ favorite one last summer and will continue being the favorite one this season. I have seen beautiful skirts with the same Sequin Aztec pattern in stores as Zara, H&M, Express and French Connection. If some of you loved this pattern, you can get them right now!

Hace exactamente un año quedé perdidamente enamorada de un vestido Azteca de All Saints, lo miraba y re miraba hasta que no pude evitar comprarlo cuando vine a NYC.  Parece ser que también fue el favorito de celebridades y sigue causando sensación, pues esta semana pude ver que más de una marca como Zara, H&M, Express y French Connection ha sacado “Su versión” del mismo estampado de lentejuelas y colores a precios un poco más pagables. Aquí les muestro las opciones como adelanto del mi outfit de mañana.

I was on my way to NYC, ready to turn off my cell phone to start the flight and I got a inbox msn from Sergio Davila that said: “Giha I have two shootings this weekend, wanna come?” Obviously, I said YES!
Sergio Davila isn’t only my favorite Peruvian fashion designer; he is an awesome human being who I really admire. I could spend hours talking and always end up teaching something.
Sergio couldn’t choose better photographers that Luciana Arana and Hans Newman, both Peruvian and well-known photographers in the fashion Industry, unfortunately I missed the first shoot with Luciana, but I was in the second one with Hans Newman which was awesome. It was a beautiful sunny day at Meat Packing District the perfect stage to the Sergio Davila Fall 2012/2013. Although it was a men collection shooting, I should confess I was madly in love with some pieces as the arrow shirt or this awesome pattern blazer. Ni siquiera había pisado NYC, estaba a punto de apagar mi cel para iniciar mi vuelo la ciudad que nunca duerme y las cosas emocionantes empezaban… Recibí un mensaje de Sergio Dávila que decia: “Giha Tengo 2 sesiones para mi catalogo este fin de semana en el Meat Packing District… Quieres cubrirlo?” Obvio en el acto dije SIIIII!!!
Pues fuera de ser mi diseñador peruano favorito, Sergio es una persona increíble, con quien podría pasar horas conversando y nunca deja de decir algo aleccionador.
Sergio no pudo elegir mejores fotógrafos que los reconocidos Luciana Arana y Hans Newman, ambos peruanos y de amplia trayectoria en el mundo de la moda. lamentablemente me perdí la sesión con Luciana el sábado, pero el domingo estuve en la sesión de Hans Newman, y creo que no pude pedir más, pues un hermoso día de sol y el Meat Parking District se asociaron para ser el escenario perfecto para los tejidos, pieles y texturas tan urbanas que Sergio nos propuso en el último NYFW Fall 2012/2013. Si bien ese día el shoot de la colección masculina debo admitir que quedé enamorada de algunas prendas. Adoré el contraste de colores neutros con las deliciosas texturas de las camisas y ese maravilloso blazer. Pueden  a colección completa ver en este link de Vogue México aquí.
